Why does my new bike have a portion of a mile on the odometer? It is typical to have around .2 miles on the odometer. It is an expensive bike and each bike has been inspected and quality control tested, thus the mileage.

How long does it take to charge an electric bike battery? Our fast-charge 4 amp charger typically charges the 840 WH Battery at a 40% charge to full battery in about 2.5 hrs.

How do I charge my electric bike?1 of 2 ways. #1) On the bike - plug the charger into the battery then plug the charger into a 110-volt outlet. #2) Remove the battery and charge as fore mentioned in #1.

What is the range of the EX1?The range heavily depends on how it is ridden. Our experience has been 50-60 miles in the mountains with most of the electric assistance used on uphill or slightly uphill.
-
Does the bike charge while being ridden/pedaled?No. Most systems that allow charging while pedaling seem plagued with pitfalls at this time, both from a cost and effective standpoint. That is my perspective at this time.
-
Do I still have to pedal? We do supply a thumb throttle and it can be heavily used, but the range would be diminished. The thumb throttle is largely supplied to assist in technical situations where momentum is important and pedal strikes want to be avoided.

-
Can I lock the battery?Yes. A keyed lock binds the battery to the frame.
-
Are there special considerations for battery storage when not in use?For longevity, 0% + 100% charge is not good for the battery. 50% - 75% is optimal. Keeping the room temperature at 40 - 75° F is ideal for storing conditions along with keeping it dry.
